Dr. Appointment Yesterday

Yesterday (Wednesday) was Katie's 6 month appointment with her neurologist. After a thorough examination, and based on the MRI results, the doctor conveyed to us that he believes Katie is on course in her recovery. For now, she is to remain on the current medication. The next step is to set up an EEG as soon as possible. Then, another one in January of next year. Then, we will see the doctor again and discuss the procedure for weaning Katie off the medication. The goal is for Katie to be med free by March, 2008.

We're thankful for the Lord's continued work of grace in Katie's life and for the continued prayers of all our wonderful family and friends!

Katie's MRI / Prayer Request

(Katie on her birthday this past Saturday)

This past Monday, Katie had her wires and bands removed from her braces so that she can have an MRI. The MRI is scheduled for this Saturday.

Prayer Request: Even though the tumor is gone and Katie has been on the anti-seizure meds, there are times when events trigger much fear in her. Nearly every time Katie would have a seizure in the past, it was preceded by vomiting. Recently we've been noticing that Katie has been sick the day after she ate ice-cream. We're guessing that she may be lactose (sp?) intolerant, but that's neither here nor there. However, Katie remembers that she would get sick like that just before a seizure. Lately, when she's been sick in that way, she has indicated to us that she is afraid that she is going to have a seizure. We're trying to reassure her that since the tumor is gone and with the meds, she doesn't need to be afraid. Please pray for her, that the Lord will give her peace regarding this.

Thank you all for your continued prayers.
